Job Description

Provides clinical direction for all aspects of patient care in an outpatient setting. Demonstrates clinical competency utilizing evidence-based practices/research in all areas of the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and outcomes. Incorporates knowledge of safety protocols, cost containment and quality improvement throughout the nursing process. Identifies patient, unit, and organizational priorities and incorporates into the nursing process. Adheres to all compliance and policy and procedure requirements of the organization including, but not limited to licensure renewal, assigned training, employee health screenings, time and attendance policy, dress code policy, patient confidentiality, infection control, medication administration. Demonstrates knowledge of regulatory agency requirements (JCAHO, DHEC). Provides care within the scope of the SC Nursing Practice Act. The outpatient setting usually does not require staff to be scheduled for a significant amount of shift, weekend, holiday, and on-call work. Bonus eligible. Essential functions include collecting data and completing nursing assessments, developing individual plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams, providing direct care consistent with nursing plans, delegating tasks, monitoring quality of care, ensuring patient safety, utilizing technology and performance indicators, evaluating nursing plans for effectiveness, teaching patients and families, communicating educational needs, maintaining competency through education and professional activities, and performing other duties as assigned. This is a non-management position reporting to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive. Minimum requirements include an Associate degree in Nursing (Bachelor's preferred), one year of RN experience or equivalent residency or LPN experience, current RN license recognized by NCSBN Compact State or state license where working, basic computer and mathematical skills, and working knowledge of patient equipment. Work shift is day.
