Available Shift: Days. M-F, Closed Weekends and Major Holidays with rotating call coverage
An outpatient surgery nurse is the bridge between our patients and the perioperative team. We collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, circulators, and other members of the surgical team to provide a safe, pleasant, and successful care experience for our patients. OUMC is Oklahoma’s only Level I Trauma center providing care by a comprehensive variety of surgical specialties to include orthopedic, transplant, cardiovascular/thoracic, plastics, gynecology, oncology, etc. As the sister hospital to OUMC, Oklahoma Children’s Hospital supports and cares for these patients as well.
General Description: An OU Health Registered Nurse (RN) I works under general supervision, providing the highest quality of care to patients in a hospital setting with health problems ranging from simple to complex. RN I represents the nurse who is a novice or an advanced beginner advancing to competent. While advancing from novice to competent, the nurse relies on rules rather than principles which are independent of specific situations. The advanced beginner may have enough real experience to begin to formulate principles.
Essential Responsibilities
*Minimum Qualifications (RN I):
Education: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
Experience: 0-3 years of experience in patient care as a Registered Nurse.
License/Certification/Registration:

Education: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in patient care as a Registered Nurse required.
License/Certification/Registration:
